Internship Time

Wow, Its internship time! I’m more then exuberant to start this process! I’m being placed at Salesforce.com this is exactly what I wanted and worked hard for.
·
  • So at Year Up I’ve developed so many skills but what really stood out were my tech skills, I learned and acquired Software skill in Microsoft Excel, Word ,PowerPoint ,and Outlook. I know how to use each of those applications very well. I’ve also became very knowledgeable about Resembling and Disabling Hardware parts. I believe as being an IT I could really benefit me and my internship with my new skills because this company is all about software and Year Up also taught me how to troubleshoot software problems.
  •     I believe I will get to display my tech skills first at my internship, I believe that’s why I got chosen to intern at Salesforce.com is because of my high tech skills and my capability to learn and learn fast.
  •       I could work well under a manager with priorities that are all about business first. Ive always been the type that is looking for work or something to do, so a manager that has things for me to do will benefit me.
  •       I would like to gain some networking soft skills I want to be able to meet a lot of important people and keep in contact with them so they know me and I have future opportunity’s because of my network.
  •      An anxiety that I have is just not being able to know everything that I learned but I know I have resources so I will use them to the best of my ability.
  •        My goal is to stand out at my internship, I will be known as the guy who works hard for what he wants. People will defiantly notice me on how hard I will work and my positivity.
  •       I have always the positive guy, I don’t have time to be negative I’m on a mission to get a job and much more gain a network and experience, when people see all this in me they will know I’m eager and dependable.
  •      My plan after this internship is to continue with school and gain degrees in tech, and hopefully keep pursing in this career and corporate world.

Internship tips

So, today I will be listing and explaining my favorite tips for my future internship success. These tips and tricks will lead me to a very successful internship and great recognition.
  • ·         My first and most important tip to me is to “Gain and get as much exposer as possible”.  This tip is very important to me because, how will I ever get noticed if I’m just doing what I have to do by keeping a low profile?  When I attend meetings, join work programs and speak up when I’m around people it really lets my presence be known, and with that presence it becomes networking, I’ll begin to meet people and  gain more exposer, and with that exposer of myself it could potentially lead me to a JOB!
  • ·         “Network Network Network” – So this tip ties in with my last tip. Networking and meeting people is very important, you want to always expand your network. You never know who could help you out in the future, when you know someone; it ends up becoming a wide network. “Everybody knows somebody, that knows somebody, that knows somebody” with that quote being said networking could only help you get your name out and potential success!
  • ·         “Take Initiative” – Taking the initiative is very important in my internship. You put a great impression on yourself when you take things or task upon yourself to do that your other colleges don’t really have the time to. I will be an Intern I need to take every opportunity to get exposer.
  • ·         “Set Personal Goals” – I have to set goals! It’s very important. I don’t want to take the internship as just as an experience, I plan to a set goals before I go in.
  • ·         “Tackle all tasks with enthusiasm and a positive attitude” – When I got this tip it made clear sense to me. When you get task show that you’re honored to take on these tasks. When I do receive task I will make the best out it and always have a positive attitude.
  • ·         “Don’t be afraid to ask questions”- This tip is very important and crucial to me I always had a disadvantage at asking questions I plan to ask so I can understand each task at the highest standard.
  • ·         “Have Regular meetings with your supervisor”- When setting and having meeting with your manager you show that your interested in your job and it could benefit the relationship you have with your manager.
  • ·         “Never shun a chance to learn on opportunity”- This tip is important to me because when I’m given this opportunity I would like to take it. So best advice is to take all the opportunity.
  • ·         “Find a mentor”- Having a mentor would benefit me by giving me other side tips and help. Having a mentor could also give you someone to talk to.
  • ·         “Avoid Negativity”-  I never been the type to be negative so this tip is just a refresher.
  • ·         Leave with tangible accomplishments”- I would like to leave with accomplishment because these accomplishments could only benefit
  • ·         “Enjoy yourself avoid romance”-  One tip my family always told me “Don’t mix business with pleasure” end of story.
